Season 30!
Fear of the unknown is a universal human experience.
With the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), our understanding and perceptions of this technology’s potential – and its threats – are evolving. Fears related to AI include a possible loss of control, privacy, and even basic human value.
So, Ember introduces . . .
Human Authenticity in an A.I. World
-a two-season exploration of A.I. apprehension and perspectives.
As of this August 2023 writing, the strike by the Writers Guild of America, launched on May 2 nd , continues to hold new production at a standstill. One of the several issues in dispute involves protections around the use of artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT. While the writers embrace the technology as a tool that can help with research, it seeks assurances from the studios that they will not seek to use A.I. to replace the creative element that is the unique contribution of human writers.
A.I. is here. It is a real part of every-day life. We have incorporated and (ultimately) embraced new technologies in the past. Is A.I. different?
