Project Encore™ Submission
About Project Encore™
Project Encore™ is a new searchable database of choral works that have received a première, but no significant additional performance. The works listed are content-and-keyword-searchable, and the listings contain links to composer and publisher web sites, sound files and sample pages of the score.
Through Project Encore™, Schola Cantorum on Hudson seeks to provide a pathway between composers and conductors/ensembles to facilitate integration of new compositions into choral programming. Project Encore™ is advertised through national and international forums for choral music.
Emergence of Project Encore™ springs from the SCH mission of artistic leadership through premiering new works. Our 15 years of programming demonstrates a strong commitment to working composers. Each première performance has fueled the desire to go further increasing awareness and acceptance of newer material by encouraging its use beyond the always-exciting cachet associated with the première performance. As part of this initiative, "encore performances" of works, already-premiered but as-yet-little-performed, will be a thread woven throughout our 15th Anniversary Season.
Submissions are currently accepted here. Each composer is welcome to submit one work for possible inclusion each quarter.
Instructions For Composers
- Composers of any age are eligible. Compositions may be submitted posthumously by someone with notorized legal authority to do so.
- Entry is limited to one composition per composer per quarter year.

- The submitted manuscript/score must be of professional quality and legibility, in PDF format.
- The submitted composition will be coded for identification, and the composer’s name will be hidden by the staff of Project Encore™.
- Each composition will be reviewed by a committee of three distinguished choral conductors. If, in the opinions of the committee members, a composition does not meet the required standards, the work will not be listed in the Project Encore™ database. Anonymity of the entrants will be maintained throughout the process.
- Composers of successful submissions will be notified no later than 1 week prior to each quarterly database update.
